It’s January fifteenth, two weeks into my 2012 fitness campaign. My tally of steps this week is far better than last week. I fell short yesterday but exceeded my goal every other day. I walked a total of 67,272 steps this week. That averages out to be 9,610 steps a day. My total to date is 112,656.
Counting steps is just a small part of the real campaign, and that is to lose weight. The older I get, the harder it is to shed the pounds. I have a weight loss goal for the year, but I can’t talk myself into sharing that goal. I need to lose more than I like to admit. For now I’m shooting for a pound a week. Doctors claim that a slow, but steady weight loss is the way to go.
I hope they’re right.
For now I’ll watch what I eat without going on a “real diet,” count my steps, and attend the water aerobics class a couple evenings a week. With luck and a prayer it will work.
Have a good week!
